the Remember When series - “One Small Step” - SOLD OUT

I have always been a huge fan of the “space race era” and space exploration in general.  I had wanted to create a print that captured the feeling of awe and wonder that we Americans shared back on that night in 1969. When it was broadcast live on TV that man had first set foot on the moon.

I was getting ready to print last week when I heard that Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos had found the Apollo 11 booster rockets and was planning to recover them.  I couldn’t believe that the timing of his announcement coincided with my latest art print. I’m glad that private individuals like Bezos are able to pick up the mantle held by NASA for so long and continue to try and explore space.

I hope that future generations can feel that same sense of awe and wonder and be inspired as I have been.

In honor of Women’s History month, I wanted to create an art print of an American icon symbolizing strong women. One who epitomizes the hard-working, patriotic women from the greatest generation.

I have been wanting to do this print for a long time. I’ve been slowly working on the drawing for this print and for a sister print, for about two years. Rosie and the dedicated women like her and the contribution they made to the war effort have always held a special place in my heart. They helped build the bombers, which as a child, I became obsessed with. Now that I’m grown, their sacrifices have strongly influenced my artwork. As seen in my B-17 nose art bomber panel series. I can’t think of a more perfect icon that symbolizes the true American spirit, which my daughter can look up to and I can have proudly hanging in my own home. I hope you enjoy her as much as I have.

A tribute, to Rosie the riveter.

Rosie the Riveter
18″ x 24″ Limited Edition Art Print

Notes:
- 18″ x 24″ on 100lb American made Cougar natural cover weight paper
- 7 screens
- Printed with water based silkscreen non-toxic inks
- Signed and numbered, edition of 140

These are designed, illustrated and hand-printed by myself. Since my prints are hand-crafted, please expect and be conscious of the fact that small variations on each print are part of the hand-made process. Each print is unique and original, no two prints are exactly alike. Please, consider this before making your purchase.
