This is my latest hand-pulled screen print, “firefly girl”.

Fireflies. Lightning Bugs. Glow worms, etc… Different names, depending on which region of the country you grew up in, but they all meant the same thing.

Growing up in Chicago, June and July meant the lightning bugs were back! At night my friends and I used to catch them and put as many as possible into jars. We’d almost always release them before our parents called us in for the night. Unfortunately, since moving to Florida, we don’t have lightning bugs around here. My kids had never seen a lightning bug and hadn’t experienced the fun of chasing and catching them. That is, until last year, when my daughter went up to Illinois to visit her grandparents for a couple weeks. She went in June and got to experience the thrill first hand. This print is a depiction of my daughter’s first experience with catching and releasing fireflies.

The nitty gritty:

The print is 18” x 24” in size.
Glow-in-the-dark ink.
The edition size is 40 pcs.
Signed and numbered

$25.00 + shipping SOLD OUT!

Available tonight, after 5pm in the Tiny Bird Press webstore.
